Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed (born 12th Jan 1993) is an American unbeaten professional boxer from Waldorf, Maryland. Reed was a decorated amateur, winning the National Golden Gloves Championship at 141 lbs. in 2011. For that performance he was named 2011 Amateur Boxer of the Year by the boxing and MMA website Stiff Jab. At the age of 22, Mike is a two-year pro. A blue-chip prospect at 140 pounds, Reed had a stellar amateur career, compiling an impressive record of 90-13. He has stayed active in the ring and made good progress. He fought six times in 2013, six times in 2014, and is fighting for the second time this year. He has gone the full eight-round distance one time, and the full six-round distance five times. In his last fight on June 13 in New York, he scored a dominant UD win over Luis Joel Gonzalez. After the fight, Gabe Hiatt reported at the Washington Post (): “All of our matchmakers feel he will be making a big mark on the sport of boxing,” Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum said in a news conference. “Without much time passing, he will be appearing on the stage in a big televised fight on HBO, on our pay-per-view events or on TruTV. He is one of the brightest lights in boxing.” Reed can move and flutter, but he is a banger, a power puncher. Soft-spoken and relaxed off the clock, Reed is confrontational and direct in the ring. For his 15th professional bout, Reed had a quick turnaround against Luis Joel Gonzalez on June 13 at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. Reed claimed a unanimous decision. Only eight of his 15 victories have come via a stoppage, and every knockout has the power to expedite Reed’s rise. They've been successful for a long time, and have promoted the biggest names in boxing, from Muhammad Ali to Manny Pacquiao.
